The goal of the Speakers Program is to introduce students to a variety of career opportunities available within the region and to help them understand the importance and value of an education. Each year the sub-committee members identify additional speakers from the 4 counties of the Highlands in various fields of work to speak with middle grade after-school students. Speakers are encouraged to speak to students about their career journey from school to workforce and their realization about the importance of education on earning potential. The goal is to increase high school graduation, encourage post-secondary education, and to introduce career choices.
Due to the positive impact of this program, filling every speaking engagement opportunity grows with importance each year and equally challenging to accomplish.
